"Circus Mirrors"
Circus Mirrors stands as an effort to make the listener re-envision the image of Hip-Hop painted by mainstream media. Time and time again, we are shown a "typical" depiction and sound of what labels, radio stations, and television want us to believe hip-hip is. Focusing on a unique, electronica-influenced sound, Kevin Jack and Drastik offer an alternative to mainstream hip-hop in this 7 track EP. Both artists strive to push the envelope in order to merge two genres of music, joining the lyrical flare of classic hip-hop with the rhythm of electronica beats. Circus Mirrors is a statement, better yet a platform, for all artists, fans, and promoters of hip-hop to push for more creativity in a genre that has lost its way. See the truth that lies behind these Circus Mirrors...See Clearer, and Shatter that Falseness.

THE BIRTH
The Birth of Modern Military Thought represents the dawn of a revolutionary way of thinking. Branching away from the conventional idea of what society currently deems as success, this movement encourages a more radical mentality that consists of innovation, deep thought, and ownership of your own destiny. This collection is given to the masses to spread the views of the new generation, a generation that explores the digital world and provides convenient access to the arts. The vast communication of this fresh attitude can be the voice of our new generation, so download it, share it, and offer your stimulated opinion. Support good music.
Standing in front of five hundred people and seeing a thousand hands rocking in sync is a moving moment for any artist, especially an underground performer from another town.
The Trey Songz show in Austin was pretty big for me. I was anxious about the event because it was my first time performing solo outside of Houston, but I was ready. Being the first act to hit the stage, I had the opportunity to set the tone for the whole evening. By the time my first song was over, I was well acquainted with the ATX crowd, and I knew they were feeling my performance. Throughout the performance, the crowd was very receptive, and after, other promoters approached me about performing at their events. This one event put me in a position to do shows with Devin the Dude, Del the Funky Homosapien, Wiz Khalifa, and Curren$y. It is crazy how music works sometimes; all it takes is one moment to push your career beyond what you might have achieved in years of hard work.
I remember being onstage back home in Rosenberg, performing a 15 minute set with a group of guys I worked with for a few years. It was an independent hip-hop showcase that usually draws a small, uninterested crowd. Overall, the event was poorly put together and mismanaged, but when youre starting out, you tend to jump on any show that is thrown your way. Anyways, were on stage doing our thing and we get about 12 minutes through the set; our last song comes on, a track entitled, Whats the Deal. The beat drops and Im talking, leading into the hook, and the sound guy cuts the track as the hook is coming aroundULTIMATE DISRESPECT. Everything gets quiet, the crowd is looking confused, and the host walks to the center stage to introduce the next act like everythings cool. By this time, the crowd starts rumbling, upset that we got cut off. I knew I had to respond to maintain our integrity, so I start performing the hook a cappella. A few seconds later, I climbed on top of a table and continued the song; no mic, no music, nothing. The crowd circled around, rocked with my performance, and chanted the chorus by the end. Since we won over the crowd, there was nothing left to do but continue the party outside. I look back on the situation and realize that everyone involved, including myself, could have handled the situation better. Though I am a very humble person, I am not afraid to take control of a situation to make sure the fans are having a great time at a concert. Too many artists hit the stage and just expect the crowd to show them love. I know you have to earn the crowds favor.
Ive done numerous projects in my career, but my first solo effort, entitled Stranger in the Crowd, is pushing my music to a new level, incorporating sounds and ideas that I stayed away from before. Right now, most mainstream hip-hop is dance oriented, based on simple phrasing fit for the club and party scene. Artists are less focused on lyrical content or the emotions and messages conveyed through the music. Though it has popular appeal, my music does not fit into the mainstream hip-hop box. So the title, Stranger in the Crowd, is basically saying, Yeah, were in the same arena. We all came here to rap, but clearly Ill be recognized for something different than the latest trends.
